March 13-17, 2012

Dec. 1: Sci. Gr. 9-12 Project Paperwork Due at Fair Office.

January 2: Online entry opens www.MastodonFair.org ($10 fee per entry or 4 hour of volunteer time or apply for a scholarship.)

February 2: If not done online, paper entry forms are due with payment of $15 each.

February 17: Online entry closes at 11:59 PM (Late entries/ changes $25 each till Feb. 24)

March 1: Digital Art Projects Due! Send DVD to Fair Office.


Saturday to Monday, March 10-12

  • Administrative Set-up – Volunteers needed: 9 AM – 4 PM

Tuesday, March 13    9 AM – 7 PM

  • Project Check-In and Placement: (No late entries accepted.)
  • Project viewing and Fair Store is open to the public (Free!)
  • Art Scholarship Portfolios due: 7 PM at the Field House

Wednesday, March 14 Closed To the Public

  • Judging: 10 AM – 9 PM (Closed to public.)
  • ISEF/Genius Judging 5-7:30 pm

Thursday, March 15 Closed To the Public

  • Art Scholarship Interviews and Judging: 4 PM – 7 PM

Friday, March 16 5 PM – 8 PM

  • Public project viewing (Free!) and Fair Store is open: 5 PM – 8 PM
  • Dinosaur Egg Hunt: 5 PM – 7:30 PM ($5, Get 3 eggs and every egg is a winner with a new book as a prize valued at $3 or more.) All Ages, Toddler through Adult hunt together!
  • Mastodon Premier (Free!) – Students stand by projects and are evaluated by Sponsors (This is NOT the judging for 1st, 2nd or 3rd medals. Sponsor’s Choice awards are chosen this night. There will be no line to enter as name tags and info packet will be on your project.):
    • K-6 grade sponsor visits 5 PM -6 PM. Activities 6-7:30 PM
    • 7-12 Activities 5 PM – 6 PM, sponsor visits 6-7:30 PM
    • 7:30 PM Award Ceremony for all.
  • Sponsor Recognition Ceremony: 7:30 PM – 8 PM. (Students must be present to win Sponsor’s Choice Award only. All other awards distributed March 24th.)

Saturday, March 17 10 AM – 4 PM

  • Family Day Activities (Free!) and Fair Store is open – 9 AM – 12 PM
  • Project Check-out and removal: 12 PM – 3 PM. Leftover projects will be in the Field House Lobby until Monday March 19th at 5 pm and then discarded.
  • Fair Break Down – Volunteers REALLY needed: 3 PM- 6 PM

Student Award Ceremony, 1PM - 3PM and Medal Pickup

ALL participants/teachers walk in opening ceremony and receive a special medallion!
