All Events held at Jefferson College Field House, Hillsboro Campus March 18th – 22nd, 2009

 

January 2: Online entry opens www.MastodonFair.org (Free online!)

February 2: If not done online, paper entry forms are due + $5 each.

February 11:  Online entry closes at 11:59 PM (Free)

March 13:  All Art Scholarship portfolios due at Art Director’s Studio, (8:30 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.)

Sunday, March 15  Art Scholarship Finalist Interviews – 3 PM to 5 PM

           at Art Director’s Studio.

·        Administrative Set-up – Volunteers/Scouts/Groups REALLY needed Sunday, March 15:  10 AM –       6 PM, Monday, March 16: 8 AM – 10 PM, Tuesday, March 17: 8 AM – 4 PM

Tuesday, March 17    Project Check-In and placement – 4:00 PM – 8 PM

Wednesday, March 18

·     Project Check-In and placement 8:30 AM – 5 PM (No late entries accepted.)

·     Project viewing and open to the public (Free) – 8:30 AM – 5 PM

·     8:30 AM – 1 PM Field Trips, Art/Science Kinetic Rooms (ASK Rooms are FREE, 20 minute hands-on workshops for all ages.), Dinosaur Den (Dino Den activities are low cost, 5 minute dinosaur-related experiences. Education and fun for all ages with games, archeology, Jurassic photo ops, authentic dinosaur egg/fossils and much more.)      

Thursday, March 19

·     Field Trips, ASK Rooms and Dino Den – 8:30 AM – 1 PM

·     Project viewing and open to the public (Free) – 8:30 AM – 1 PM

·     Judging – 1 PM – 8 PM (Closed to public during judging)

Friday, March 20      

·     Field Trips, ASK Rooms and Dino Den – 8:30 AM – 1 PM

·     Project viewing and open to the public (Free) – 8:30 AM – 8 PM

·     Mastodon Premier – Students stand by projects 5 PM – 8 PM.

·     Sponsor Recognition Ceremony – 7:30 PM – 8 PM. (Students must be present to win Sponsor’s Choice Award.)

Saturday, March 21  

·        ASK Rooms and Dino Den 8:30 AM – 5 PM

·        Dinosaur Egg Hunt (Starts at 10 am. Toddler to adult hunt together.  Consult www.MastodonFair.org for details.)

·        Project viewing and open to the public (Free) – 8:30 AM – 5 PM

·        Science Scholarship Interviews for ISEF Finalist– 5:30 PM – 8 PM

Sunday, March 22     

·     Project viewing and open to the public (Free) – 11 AM – 1:30 PM

·     Student Awards Ceremony – ALL participants and teachers walk in opening ceremony and receive a special medallion! 1:30 PM – 3 PM

·     Project removal 3 PM – 6 PM.  Leftover projects will be held in the Field House lobby and thrown away after noon on Monday, March 23.

Sunday, March 22               Administrative Tear Down – Volunteers REALLY needed 3:30 PM – 10 PM

March 22 to May 1             Presentation winners display their projects at Mastodon State Historic Site.
